Publiceret 18-04-2024

The Energy Performance of Building Directive (EPBD) is setting a direction for how to target the embodied carbon in our constructions for all EU member states. The Nordic countries and Estonia have worked on this area for several years and gathered some experiences. Here you can get a full and newly updated overview.

Introducing Frameworks in the Nordic Countries in 2025

Opportunity to Harmonise

Despite being at the forefront, Nordic countries and Estonia currently have varying approaches to limit values that could argue for harmonising methods, focus on fair competition, and market development of the most efficient low carbon solutions.

Get more information about the regulatory needs, harmonising recommendations and the current Nordic path ways to limit values in the report Harmonised Carbon Limit Values for Buildings in Nordic Countries . In the report you can also read more about the table listed above.

Th report Harmonised Carbon Limit Values for Buildings in the Nordic Countries is one of the deliverables for Work Package 1 led by the Finnish Ministry of Environment. The work has been carried out by BUILD, SWECO and EFLA.
