Inspiration Catalogue with Policy Measures to Improve the Use of Existing Buildings
An Inspiration Catalogue has been developed, with policy measures and case examples aiming to improve the use of the existing building stock.

The catalogue is created together with authorities and stakeholders from the construction sector across the Nordic region, featuring more than 30 policy measures and case examples.
On May 7th 2026, a webinar was held to launch the catalogue. Here, selected policy measures and case examples from the catalogue was presented by authorities and stakeholders, giving insights into the areas.
Illustration for the Inspiration Catalogue
As part of the publication of the inspiration catalogue showcasing policy measures and case examples to improve the use of the existing building stock, an illustration was prepared by the artist Oh-Man.
The illustration builds on the hierarchy of resource-efficient construction, guiding whether to utilise, maintain, renovate and transform, extend lifetime or build new, and represents the five strategic action areas presented in the catalogue.
